weekend bliss

Sometimes when I'm having so much fun, I totally forget to take pictures...like this whole weekend :P
Nonetheless, here's what I've been grateful for over the last two days [despite the freezing cold weather] :)

1. the dollar theater--even though the dollar theater is no longer a dollar, but is TWO dollars {for weekend movies}, it's still a killer deal for a movie when you're a poor married college couple ;)

2. nicholas maxwell scoville--so sometimes I have a hard time understanding/following movies. especially when they're part of a series and I've only seen the first of the series. {we saw the bourne legacy but I've only seen the first of the Jason Bourne movies...}

Also, I love him for always matching with me every Sunday :)

3. the Jacksons--we had Greg and Becca over for dinner last night and it was a blast. We had bulgogi and a delicious veggie side with some old wedding cake. we finished off the night with a game of Dominion {which sounds nerdy, but it's pretty much the best game ever}

4. missionary emails--I miss my sista. Good thing she comes home in like 4 1/2 months! :)

5. I also got an email from one of my FHE children from freshman year. he comes home 2 days. craziness! And I also got a call from one of my freshman friends, Palmer! It's weird that everyone is home, but it'll be nice to have a little freshman reunion of sorts next semester :)

6. chick flicks-- I love them. And every other movie on our Netflix queue is a chick flick. and Max is so great for watching them with me. We watched 13 going on 30. It's so cute I just loved it :)

Well..now it's Monday...I'm sure I'll be able to can find some things to be grateful for today even though Mondays are usually rough :P

food is where the heart is :)

today I am grateful for a lot of things.

1. I'm {always} grateful for my husband. he makes me an omelet for breakfast every morning. and also packs my lunch for me on days that I'm really busy.

<<He may actually love Kneaders french toast more than he loves general conference... :P>>

2. I love having having family close by--today we got to hang out with my sister in law, Liz, and her two adorable boys. i never have the stamina to play with little Beck for more than like 10 minutes, but it was still a great night. got to spend some quality time with baby oli too :)
Oh, and did I mention my sister in law has an amazing sewing/fashion blog? it's pretty much the best :)
{unfortunately I don't have any pictures from tonight...but here are some adorable pictures of my nephews from my sister in laws blog}

3. I'm grateful(ish) for rain/snow--well kinda. I like rain/snow for 2 reasons:
1) i get to wear my cute winter coats and
2) i get to wear my favorite pair of rain boots
{Photo: Nov 2012. After it rained, but before it started snowing like crazy.}

4. I'm super grateful for posting about things I'm grateful for every day of the rest of this month. I often get caught up in the craziness of life and forget that there are always good things that happen :) yes, it sounds corny, but it's true. life is great!

5. and as always, I'm grateful for the weekend. for obvious reasons :)

Happy Friday everyone!

some thanksgiving holiday spirit.

I know I'm a week late, but I thought it'd be a good time to list things I am grateful for every day this month. because 'tis the season to be {especially} grateful, right?

Today I am grateful for
1. Maxwell, for making me laugh when I get stressed.
{Photo: Halloween 2012. Crayon fight.}

2. The fact that there are term limits for presidents. 'nuff said.

3. SFL 110 apple pie. We've been eating it for the last 2 nights and we still have some of my pie left over. Plus we still have the whole pie Max made too. That class if just fabulous.
Before.

After.

4. the awesome process of glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, the electron transport chain, and ATP synthase. the processes couldn't be any more perfect--Heavenly Father is so smart!
{{Science is awesome}}

5. Cranberry apple sparkling cider. it's so classy. and festive. i love it.

{My husband is a little silly if you haven't noticed. but that's why I love him :) }

a random note.

at around 4:45pm today:

the mrs: Max, what time do you want to go home?
the mr: Hmm. I don't know yet.
the mrs: How about at...5!
the mr: in 15 minutes? No, lets stay till 7. That way we can get ahead on all of our homework for this week!
the mrs: What!?! what am I supposed to do until 6pm?!?
the mr: .....wait, I said 7...were you trying to trick me?

darn. my husband is just too smart for my tricks. oh how i love Mondays...

My First Presidential Ballot!

So the other day I finally got in my first Presidential Ballot! The last presidential election I had just turned 17, so obviously I wasn't qualified to vote yet.

But now that I'm 21 I totally registered to vote when I was visiting CA over the summer.

Unfortunately they spelled my name wrong. (JeGhee)

But fortunately, my vote will still count :)
(I decided that I'll just fix it...later--dealing with government systems is such long a dreary process. i'll just tackle that one for the next presidential election.)

Photo: Home. October 2012. Pardon the shower hair and comfy clothes.
I just really wanted a picture with my ballot before I sent it off!

So now my vote is sent! BAM! Done! :) That was easy.
(unfortunately my husband had a little more difficulty with the whole voting thing...so I'm not sure he's gonna be able to vote this election...but he for sure will next time!)

Those of you qualified voters out there, GO VOTE tomorrow (since it's too late to do an absentee).
Let's make some changes, because who wants the next for years to be just like the 4 years we just had? (I don't know about you, but I don't like this $4/gal gas business.)
